  • AI conversation history and generated content

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

TeachZilla is designed to be used by educators, not directly by students. We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable student information. If classroom details you provide contain references to individual students, we:

  • Store that data only in your private, encrypted account
  • Never share it with third parties
  • Never use it to train our AI models
  • Delete it promptly upon your request

We support FERPA compliance and are committed to working with schools and districts to meet their data governance requirements.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase - Database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe - Payment processing (we never store your full card number)
  • OpenAI / Google AI - AI content generation (no personal data is sent to AI providers; only anonymized teaching context is used)

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • Your profile and classroom data are deleted within 30 days
  • AI conversation history is permanently deleted
  • Uploaded files are removed from our servers
  • Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all personal data we hold about you
  • Export your data at any time through the platform
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

TeachZilla is designed for use by adult educators, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
